Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University

Dr Diane Warner is a senior lecturer in initial teacher education at Manchester Metropolitan University and co-convenor of BERA’s Race, Education and Ethnicity special interest group. She started as a primary school teacher and moved into ITE working at universities with campuses in the north and south of England with student teachers from a range of ethnic heritages. Her research interests include examining the racially minoritising experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic student teachers using a critical race theory lens. She is currently working with national and international academic colleagues on research projects looking at the student–mentor relationship and ethics in race research.
